Lifelike Dental Bridges Customized to Meet Your Needs

Our dentists are skilled in restorative dentistry. If you are missing one or more teeth in a row, they can place a beautiful dental bridge to restore your appearance and bite. We provide both traditional and implant-supported dental bridges. Both types are available in a wide range of restorative materials, including state-of-the-art zirconia. Our dentists will help you choose the right type of bridge for your unique needs. They will also collaborate with our long-time partner lab for completely natural-looking results. To find out more about the different types of dental bridges, please contact any of our offices today.

Dental bridge

Traditional Bridges

Both traditional and implant-supported bridges are made from several dental crowns fused together. Like traditional crowns, a standard bridge will attach to your nearby teeth, completely covering the biting surface and sides of each tooth. To place this type of bridge, our dentists will reshape the adjacent teeth on either side of the gap in your smile. Your dentist will use careful techniques and powerful local anesthesia to ensure your comfort throughout the procedure. He will then send impressions of your teeth to our lab, where technicians will design and craft your restoration. We have worked with the same local lab for ten years and we are confident in the consistent quality of their work. While your bridge is being created, a process which typically takes about ten days, we can supply you with a temporary restoration.

A traditional bridge may be the right option for you if you have suffered bone recession, affecting your ability to receive dental implants. You might also choose this treatment if you have a limited budget, or you have other health conditions that might make oral surgery unsafe.

Implant-supported Bridges

An implant-supported bridge is an extremely stable restoration, attached to two or more dental implants. Our dentists will find the strongest positions for these implants in the jaw, performing preparatory bone grafting or a sinus lift, if needed. When your bone has healed, typically in three to five months, your dentist will attach your new restoration. Similar to traditional bridges, our partner lab will craft your restoration using impressions and photos of your teeth.

Traditional bridges are very lifelike. However, our implant-supported restorations offer enhanced stability and an even more natural look. They will also preserve more of your healthy tooth structure, since your dentist will not need to reshape your nearby teeth to place the implants. Finally, the titanium posts will protect your jaw health by preventing the bone recession that results from missing teeth.

Advanced Restorative Materials

Our lab technicians can create your bridge from a variety of materials, including porcelain-fused-to-metal, all-porcelain, and zirconia. Bridges made of porcelain-fused-to-metal will match your surrounding teeth. Over time, however, the porcelain shell may start to come off. All-porcelain and zirconia are made solely from tooth-colored materials, and have a natural sparkle.

Treatment Benefits

The most noticeable benefit of a dental bridge is that it will fill the gap in your smile, restoring your appearance and self-confidence. However, a bridge will have a number of additional benefits for your overall dental health. First, it will restore your dental function, so you can eat and speak normally. Second, it will improve the force of your bite, reducing your risk for broken teeth, dental erosion, bruxism, and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder. Finally, your bridge will keep your other teeth in place so that you can enjoy a straight, healthy smile.
